While clearly Chinese dominance is the way to go, this is how everything appears to be unfolding and it works just fine for Intelligent Reconstruction, China in it's current state means their dominance would bring more trouble to humanity than you may have thought. The west does not need to fear them like a lot of the west currently fears them, they're not doing that it isn't that one, not with their current leadership anyway.

The problem lies in their karma. Japan did an excellent job resolving quite a bit of their karma, however they barely scratched the surface, they've got about two thirds of their karma left to go.

The nature of their powerhouse means the potential is there for the karma to go unresolved at the point of claiming dominance. What this means, is they take humanity down with them. The planet falls into seemingly unresolvable turmoil. The planet falls into a dark age and stunts our progress to levels quite near the last dark age.
